ZELT

How It Works

The ZELT loop precisely analyzes the electromagnetic signature of each bicycle or vehicle wheel, with 13 differentiation criteria. Its unique algorithm allows extreme precision in any configuration (shared road, bicycle boulevard, etc).

Each time a vehicle passes over the ZELT loops, its wheelbase generates a change in ZELT loops' magnetic field, triggering a count. Motorized vehicles are differentiated and classified by comparing their wheelbase distance.

Applications

The ZELT Loops are discrete as they are buried 4 to 5 cm (1.5’’ - 2’’) beneath ground level.

Urban ZELT
​

The Urban ZELT Inductive Loop system is the world’s leading technology for permanent on- and off-street bike counting. The system is perfect for obtaining cycling trends over time and allows for comparison of bike trips over consecutive months, seasons or years.

 

When the loops are installed on a shared road, the system will accurately count bikes while ignoring motorized vehicles such as cars, motorcycles and buses. The system can be configured to count on any type of cycling pathway (shared road, bike lane or protected bike path).

Greenways ZELT

The Greenways ZELT Inductive Loop system is the world’s leading technology for permanent counting on bike trails. Similar to the Urban ZELT, the system is perfect for obtaining trends over time and allows for the comparison of bike trips over consecutive months, seasons or years.

 

The Greenways ZELT system is optimized to count large groups of cyclists with high accuracy making it ideal for high-volume bike paths.

Easy ZELT

The Easy ZELT Inductive Loop system is the perfect solution for temporary (one to six months) off-street bike counting.

 

The system uses single-use adhesive loops rather than permanent loops that are cut into the path, making it easy to install and simple to move between locations. The ZELT’s unique SIRIUS algorithm allows the system to detect all types of bicycles with extreme precision.

MULTI ZELT
​

The Car/Bus MULTI ZELT is an unique innovation in vehicular counting. It is the only system of its kind that is battery operated. This low-energy counting system has a two-year battery life, making it a great alternative to other high-energy products that require constant access to a power source. 

 

The system detects the electromagnetic signature of each wheel, achieving high counting accuracy and differentiating cars and buses.
